История про то, как юный Ричи Блэкмор переходил в группу The Outlaws, но вообще-то про Пэйджа.
"However it wasn't a simple case of transferring from one group straight into another. Blackmore had some tough competition to contend with as the Outlaws rhythm guitarist Ken Lundgren recalls. "Nicky Hopkins and Bernie Watson auditioned. We actually thought about changing the line-up to make it a piano-guitar thing but Chas [Hodges] wanted to play the piano as well so we didn't go for that.We held auditions at the 2 I's coffee bar in Soho. A number of people including Jimmy Page auditioned for the band, because we'd had some records in the charts and we backed John Leyton on a couple of things which were number one hits so the Outlaws had a pretty big name. All of these young guitarists, that were like the second wave, up and comers and really good players all auditioned for the band. Jimmy Page wouldn't join. He said our stage set was too physical and he had to jump around a bit and he wasn't interested in that, he just wanted to stand still and let his art shine for its own sake. But Ritchie had been playing with Lord Sutch and he was into it. He said, 'I'm a member of the Savages and stage antics are part of my professional make-up' and we tried him out and he was great". © Jerry Bloom "Black Knight: Ritchie Blackmore"
